Veterinary Services, Euthanasia

When is Euthanasia an Option?

Euthanasia is up to the doctor's discretion. Our veterinarian will not euthanize healthy pets unless it's a case of extreme aggression. Most euthanasia cases are dogs and cats that are terminally ill and in pain. Our veterinarians will not euthanize non-aggressive healthy pets or injured pets with a chance of recovery. Our doctors will advise you on all other options before putting down your pet.

Euthanizing your pet is an emotional experience. Our staff will be by your side with professional advice and compassion. Euthanasia is painless and peaceful. Your pet will no longer suffer. Consult our veterinarian today to discuss if euthanasia is your only option. (407) 862-6892

Pet Euthanasia Procedure

Putting your pet to sleep is a tough decision and everyone grieves differently. We try to schedule euthanasia appointments during our slowest time of the day, to maximize your privacy. Walk in emergencies are always accepted and given first priority. We encourage our clients to be present during the procedure to comfort their pets through their final moments but fully understand that not everyone is comfortable doing this. We will accommodate you in any manner you desire to make this procedure as comfortable for you and your pet as possible.

Pet Euthanasia Options

  • You can take your pet home for private burial (local and state law permiting)
  • You can have your pet cremated and have the ashes put into a custom urn for you to take home.
  • You can leave the pet with us for cremation.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who are hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from you heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...Author unknown

We offer our sincerest condolences
